Just thought I should give you a few tips on Spring Cleaning. Please not that you do not have to be a geek to follow these tips! :)
1. Tidy Your Desktop- You might want to tidy up your desktop e.g. make new folders to keep un-used but valuable files in or (like I am currently doing) get a second monitor, a VGA/DVI cable and configure dual monitors to increase productivity and more! It doesn't have to be a fancy new screen but just a screen maybe that has been collecting dust in your room.
2. Organize Your Workspace- You probaly want a bit more room on your desk (like I do) therefore I think you should tidy up your workspace. Maybe you could a mug or something to put all of you pens in and a drawer to keep your tech apparel in. If you REALLY want to tidy up your desk you might want to even get one of those slide out keyboard drawers installed under you desk. This may set you back about $50-$60 but at least you can keep you keyboard out of the way when you are doing non computer stuff.
3. Run Disk Defragmentator/Security Scan- If you are like me and have thausands of files on your PC in the wrong places then maybe you should run the Disk Defragmentator that comes standard on most operating systems (I'm not sure about Linux/Unix) and if you, for some reason don't have that piece of software on your PC, then you can download a free one of the internet by typing it in to a search engine. A security scan is always good and should be ran weekly if not daily! I reccomend you use your internet security/antivirus package or if you don't have one but instead have a standalone security package then you could get one easily off the internet!
I hope these tips have helped you increase productivity and work amounts in your tech-filled day!
I hope these
